Rowlett is kicking off the holiday season with a fest on Saturday, December 1st. As well as celebrating the holidays, the city of Rowlett is happy to welcome the DART Blue Line to town.
Visit us and many other local businesses on December 1st. The Festival will start at 3pm and end at 6pm.

Come celebrate the opening of the DART Light Rail Blue Line extension into Rowlett at the biggest party of the year! This event will combine elements from the City’s three most popular events; Touch a Truck, Fireworks on Main and Light Up Main Tree Lighting Festivities into one spectacular afternoon of entertainment.
Bring the camera for lots of photo opportunities as the kids climb all over, in and out of vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Fire engines, ambulances, police cars, SWAT vehicles, large construction tractors, dump trucks, a DART bus and so many more!
The fun doesn’t stop there! Radio Disney will be on hand and lots more kid’s activities including a Winter Wonderland complete with snow will keep the little ones entertained. Unique shopping opportunities and food, food, food from local Rowlett restaurants and other vendors will line Main Street. Live music and performances from bands and local school choirs will set the holiday mood.
Across the tracks at the Rowlett Station, enjoy free DART Light Rail train rides to and from the downtown Garland station, more live music, shopping and food as DART celebrates the grand opening too!
This fun afternoon will also feature an enhanced Light Up Main tree lighting featuring an expanded lighting scheme all up and down Main Street. And of course, Santa Claus will visit with everyone in the gazebo in Veteran’s Park. Then, when it gets dark, ooooh’s and ahhhhh’s will echo up and down Main Street over the holiday inspired fireworks show!
The Rowlett community has waited a long time for this so come celebrate with your family, friends and neighbors! Park at Coyle Middle School, Rowlett High School, Herfurth Park, First United Methodist Church or First Baptist Church, shuttles will run all afternoon.
